About Me

Welcome to my blog!  My name is April, and I'm the happy wife of Ben and mother of four ornery little girls, Grace, Leah, Anne, and Elise.  My first priority is to please the Lord with my life, and I am trying to practically fulfill that desire in my role as a homemaker.

I am blessed with a wonderful family and church.  I grew up in a Christian home, the daughter of a Baptist pastor.  At the age of nine, I accepted Christ as my Savior.  In the fall of 2000, I went to Bible college, where I met my husband and had a not-so-fairy-tale romance. We graduated in 2004, and Ben and I married in June 2005.  In 2008, we moved to Northern Ohio, and our oldest daughter, Grace, was born 3 months later.  Leah joined our family in the summer of 2010, Anne at the end of 2012, and Elise arrived in the summer of 2014.    We are also part of a loving church family, and we enjoy serving in a bus ministry to children in the inner-city of Cleveland. Frugal Homemaking is the visual outlet for my dabblings.  I have always been a tightwad, a fact my family is swift to collaborate.  I have not always loved housework, but becoming a wife, and most certainly a mommy, cured me of that.  Making our house a place of peace, love and joy is my daily quest, in between changing diapers, wiping dishes, cleaning messes, and blogging, of course.  I enjoy crafting, but it must be simple, inexpensive, and quick, or I lose interest and ambition.  So the collection of homemaking, frugal living, crafting, cooking, and our personal life cobbled together here is merely a reflection of my daily life.

I hope to instill in my daughters a love for Jesus and for their future homes.  I love to save the money that my husband works so hard to earn, so finding great deals and making do with what we have is a real passion with me.  My mission with this blog is to encourage others to find practical ways to be content with and make the most of what God has given them.

  7. I just love your blog (and not just because I'm a North Eastern Ohioan as well)! :) Thank you for all of your fun tips and crafts! I love reading about you and your family and the latest project you're undertaking. Most of all, I love reading the way that Christ moves you, and influences your family's life. Striving to be a virtuous woman who desires closeness to Christ is most important, admirable, and lovely especially in our culture. THANK YOU! :)
