Christmas Cards

I love, love, love to get Christmas cards.  I just love to hear from all the lovely friends and family that have taken the time to send a note of cheer.  I like to send them as well, usually with a little note of our year's doings.  We finally got our first family picture of all four of us at our church Thanksgiving dinner.

For several years now, we have done photo cards, which I love to give as well as receive!  This year we will be ordering Shutterfly photo cards.  They have a huge assortment of formats and styles, and I love that they have a lot of "Merry Christmas" themes.  It is a small peeve of mine that everyone is giving in to the "Happy Holiday" greeting, and taking Christ out of the holiday.  Through December 1, all their greeting cards are 30% off, which makes the flat 4x8 photo cards just $.32 each!

We aren't certain which layout to choose from, but I love the following folded cards:

Another really great feature of Shutterfly's Christmas cards is that you can easily edit your uploaded photo!  If you click on the photo once you've dragged it into the card, you can fix red eye, crop, and even add special effects, like black and white, choose a color tone, and add a soft focus to your picture.  As you can tell from our family picture, we will probably have it printed in black and white or sepia, since the orange in Grace's dress is a little much for a red/green Christmas theme.

You can also personalize your card to feature your own message.  This is nice if you like to add a Bible verse to your cards, which we always have done.

Lastly, their shipping is lightning fast.  Last week I made 4 photo books on Shutterfly, and I received the first two on Thursday, and the last one arrived on Monday, just one week from when I ordered them.  I have also chosen to back up all of my photos by storing them on Shutterfly's website, because they advertise free online storage forever.  I just upload my photos at the end of each month, and I no longer worry that I will lose all my precious photo memories if our computer crashes.

I have (3) unique 10% off codes that I would be willing to share with someone, that will pair nicely with this week's cyber sales on Shutterfly's cyber sales.  I also have (2) unique codes for 5 FREE greeting cards that I will give on a first come, first serve basis.
Just e-mail me at frugalhomemaking (at) yahoo (dot) com if you are interested.

Love this picture, April! I need to get your address because I would love to send you a Christmas card. Each year, I "find" more old friends to send cards to. Even though I'm single, it's still great fun to me. :)
