Indoor Swimming {Flooded Again!}

Four inches of storm water throughout our entire condo

I did pray for rain, and the Lord surely answered that prayer!  We received 5 inches of rain in about 4 or so hours.  Unfortunately, our storm sewers were overwhelmed.  Once again, Ben stepped out of bed into water at 3:15am.  The clean-up has gone incredibly fast this time, since we installed ceramic tile and vinyl-backed carpet tiles after the last flood in February.  We are almost back to normal this evening!

Oh, how I wish half that rain had been here, just so you wouldn't have so much to clean up (and we'd get some grass back!)

Thanks for sharing - I'm looking for some flooring that can take a few inches of water once in a while without too much fussing. I'm split between plactic laminate and ceramic tiles. With the plastic, I'm told you still have to remove, wash and reinstall the floor after a flood which sounds like a HUGE hassle!

Have your floors dryed ok?

I've just flooded for the second time in a little over three years (despite never having flooded in the previous twenty years!) and I'm very concerned it could happen again. Insurance companies where I live have stopped paying out for water damage because we live close to a river...whoever thinks global warming is hoax should come visit me! ;)

So sorry to hear about your flooding issues! It is never a good experience. The ceramic tiles worked great! Really there was nothing to do except mop them clean once the water was all gone. The vinyl-backed carpet tiles, however, are another story. We had to remove them, dry them off, and let the concrete dry before replacing. A good bit of work, but at least we don't have to pay to have the flooring replaced again.
