Last week, I made a half-hearted meal plan, and the result was a half-baked week of meals. I HATE when it's 4:30 and Ben says, "What's for dinner?" and I'm totally stumped. I have about $13 left for the rest of the month in my grocery budget, so except for milk, bread, and fresh produce, we're eating from our stockpile for the next two weeks!
Question of the day: Do you think taking a picture of your children in the middle of their misbehavior encourages it? Sometimes they do things that is so ornery but cute at the same time, so I try to surreptitiously get a picture, but sometimes they catch me in the act. Above, I told Grace with a very solemn face that I was taking a picture to show Daddy what she was doing, hence the "deer in headlights" look. I will show him, but I also wanted it for posterity's sake. When she's sixteen, I can't wait to show how she painted those luscious lips of hers. :)
I'm linking up to Menu Plan Monday.

Hi, I am stopping by from Menu Plan Monday. Sounds like you guys will be doing a lot of eating out of the cupboards for the next two weeks! Having an actual menu for the week has helped me a lot in staying on budget and avoid that end-of-month scramble, but its good to clean out the cupboards every so often.
I love your thoughts about the photo. Yes, being serious while taking it is just fine. Teaches them there are different levels of photography, too. Different seriousness, too. Yes, sixteen and after she'll appreciate these in different ways. It is a good teaching process.
I like your menus, too. Beloved Husband doesn't eat so many of the good things you've listed. Tomorrow I'm having lunch with a budding artist who grew up in our church -- Chinese!!! Another BH dislike, so it's a double treat for me.
I like your "excuse" to take a photo... I'll have to remember that next time I want to take one of the boys doing something they shouldn't! :-) I've taken some that I just couldn't resist, but usually don't just for the reason you named. Thanks for the "excuse"!;-)
