Water Break...Mommy's Beat.

Supermom would probably never do this, but I make no such claims or aspirations.  When I really need to get something down by myself, I pull out this handy little trick....  Turn on the faucet, set the step stool in front of it, place a bowl, several safe utensils, and a little bit of soap in the bowl, and I give Grace the green light.  Just keep breakables from arm's length.  This is probably her absolute favorite pastime.

This little activity buys me 20 minutes to a solid hour of uninterrupted and unworried time.  Undeniably, there is a bit of a water and wet clothes mess to clean up, but Grace helps...and it's just water. :)  Look at it as an effortless bath and floor mopping!

Try it sometime, and if you have more than one child, the addition only seems to increase the amount of time they remain occupied in this activity.

I do this, too! And, even though it makes a mess, I find the "water gun" at the sink makes for great play, too.

I just posted about some of our sandbox cum sensory tub play outdoors. Take the mess outside sometimes when you have outdoor chores! :)
